In impressive mountain scenery to the Hochblanken and mountain hut Ragaz.

The day of hiking commences with a leisurely trip by chair lift to the Uga mountain station. Then follow the signpost towards Hochblanken. Staying on the signposted path to the right of the ‘Hohes Licht’ lift, you’ll hike uphill to reach a narrow, somewhat steep mountain hiking trail that will take you up to the summit of the Hochblanken. Enjoy magnificent views of the surrounding mountain world at an altitude of 2,068 metres.

The narrow mountain hiking trail continues towards the Ragazer Blanken. A detour to the Ragazer Blanken is always worthwhile. The alpine trail will then take you towards Sünserjoch / Portlahorn. There’s a crossroads at the Sünserjoch. Turn left there, down to the Alpe Ragaz. You’ll reach the beautifully situated alp after around 45 minutes where an Älpler lunch snack will be served to provide fortification for the final stage of the hike.

Once refreshed, you’ll leave the alpine meadow and continue along the downhill trail to the Sunnegg valley station. Turn left at the signpost near the car park and walk briefly uphill towards Alpenblume. It only takes between around 10 and 15 minutes to get back to the Uga valley station from there.
