Take the cycle path as far as Egg. Turn off to the right and follow the road via Großdorf, Lingenau and Hittisau to Sibratsgfäll. In Sibratsgfäll village centre, turn off to the left towards Rohrmoos. The Rohrmoos links the Illertal with the Bregenzerwald. It is particularly pleasing that this road is closed to motorised vehicles of all kinds, meaning that you have the narrow yet well tarmacked road practically to yourself. Turn off to the left in Tiefenbach and follow the road via Obermaiselstein, Bolsterlang, Kierwang, Sigiswang and Ofterschwang to Immenstadt. From Immenstadt a well-suited cycle path along the Alpsee takes you to Oberstaufen. This avoids the busy main road. From Oberstaufen, cross the border at Springen/Aach and return to Vorarlberg.
Follow the L 205 towards Riefensberg, Krumbach, Langenegg and Lingenau. Approx. 200 m after the thermal baths in Lingenau, turn left at the crossroads and, after 50 m, turn right into a narrow street. Take the link road until you join the L 29 towards Egg-Großdorf. Take the Bregenzerwald cycle path as far as Bezau. There, turn off towards Reuthe and Bizau. At the end of Bizau, the approx. 3-km long climb to the Schnepfegg starts. It has steep stretches at the beginning. Make sure to take in the marvellous panorama on the Schnepfegg. The partially narrow road makes for a demanding downhill run to Schnepfau. Take the cycle path back to Au-Schoppernau.
