The Vorarlberg Museum boasts a new structure that rounds off the series of freestanding cultural buildings at redesigned Kornmarktplatz square.
This museum integrates the former administration building from 1906 by means of a two-storey extension and a sharp white colour scheme. Giant windows in the panorama room at the very top offer stirring views over the lake. And in the bright white concrete facade with its flower-shaped relief, the motif of ancient drinking vessels is recreated using the bases of modern-day plastic bottles.
A spacious foyer leads on to a 19 metre high atrium. The exhibition spaces cover the entire area of the top two storeys, separated from the foyer by the administration and technology facilities on the first and second floors.
