The most beautiful suggested routes in Vorarlberg including the Lake Constance and Montafon cycling routes
Cycling in Vorarlberg: The well-signposted network of trails for cycling in Vorarlberg is nearly 300 kilometres long! Not to mention the roadside cycle paths and cross-border routes that lead to neighbouring Germany, Switzerland and Liechtenstein.
One prime example is the 270-km Lake Constance cycling route, which is amongst the most popular bike routes in all of Europe. Vorarlberg’s quiet side streets are also well worth exploring. Would you prefer to skip one or more legs of your route? Take a shortcut with the train or the Lake Constance ships and ferries.
Vorarlberg’s cycling routes are paths of adventure through scenic countryside.
To shorten various stretches of the overall journey or to add variety, cyclists have the option to hitch a ride on Vorarlberg’s local and regional trains or make use of the ferries and ships on Lake Constance. Bikes will be transported according to the conditions of the various transportation companies.

DescriptionFrom Bludenz, the route first goes along the Ill River to Brunnenfeld. From the traffic junction at the Bludenz-Montafon freeway exit, the Klostertal cycle path leads into the valley on the shady side along the Alfenz river. You pass Stallehr and ride along the valley floor past Außer- and Innerbraz. At Dalaas, the valley becomes so narrow that the bike path briefly leads onto the village street, which is little…

From the junction at the Bludenz-Montafon motorway exit, take secondary roads through Lorüns, then briefly along the main road and then shadily along the Ill into the valley. You pass Vandans and the large compensating basins at Rodund power station and arrive at the beginning of Schruns and Tschagguns. The cycle path remains very close to the Ill. Shortly before…

One route usually remains to the right of the Ill and leads through riparian forests and meadows in Ludesch, Thüringen, Bludesch, Schlins and Satteins to Frastanz. The other one always stays near the left bank of the Ill and leads through the Tschalenga Au to Nenzing and through the Galina forest with its many quarry lakes to…

DescriptionTake the cycle path as far as the roundabout in Bersbuch. Turn off towards Schwarzenberg, cycling through the village centre, past Hotel Hirschen and, after about 300 m, turn right into the narrow road. Now comes a windy, partially steep climb to Brittenberg. There is hardly any traffic on this little road, which affords breathtaking views. At the fountain, turn off to the right, continue on a plateau and stick…

DescriptionTake the cycle path as far as Egg. Turn off to the right and follow the road via Großdorf, Lingenau and Hittisau to Sibratsgfäll. In Sibratsgfäll village centre, turn off to the left towards Rohrmoos. The Rohrmoos links the Illertal with the Bregenzerwald. It is particularly pleasing that this road is closed to motorised vehicles of all kinds, meaning that you have the narrow yet well tarmacked road practically to…
