  • Höhenprofil

A beautiful summit tour from Schröcken to the highest peak in the Lechquellengebirge of the Braunarlspitze. Partly the ascent includes some climbing passages.

A gravel path leads from Schröcken to Alpe Felle. The path continues uphill until you reach Fürggele or Braunarl. Continue along the trail until you reach the Butzensee junction. Here you can decide if you want to hike to the Butzensee first and enjoy the beautiful atmosphere at the lake. Otherwise you turn right towards Fürggele. Left past the Sonntag Wanne over the steep Weimarer Steig to the Braunarlspitze. Some climbing passages of the I + II grade have to be mastered. The view from afar at the summit compensates for every strain from the ascent. The descent leads over steep rock walls and scree. The descent path ends at the Theodor-Praßler-Weg. From here left following the oily path. To Butzensattel and down to Butzensee.  From Butzensee via an ascent to Mohnensattel and on to the lower Gaisbühelalpe to Tanegg and Oberlech. The Oberlech-Lech mountain railway takes you back down into the valley.
A head for heights and sure-footedness are absolutely essential.

  • Directions

From the car parking behind the church in Schröcken the gravel path leads to Alpe Felle. The path climbs moderately steeply until a turn-off to Fürggele or Braunarl leads away. Continue along the path to the Lake  Butzensee junction. Turn right towards Fürggele.  Continue left, past the Sonntag Wanne over the Weimarer Steig to the Braunarlspitze. The ascent from Fürggele is steep, demanding and challenging. Some climbing passages of the I + II grade have to be mastered. The descent leads over steep rock faces and scree. Down the descent path until it ends. At the Theodor-Praßler-Weg follow the rocky path to the left. The lake Butzensee can already be seen from the Butzensattel.  From Lake Butzensee it goes to Mohnensattel and on to the lower Gaisbühelalpe to Tanegg and Oberlech. At the Mohnensattel you have the alternative of hiking on the Mohnenfluh. The Oberlech-Lech mountain railway takes you back to the valley.

From Oberlech you can take the cable car Lech-Oberlech into the valley.
