01 Bildstein basilica pilgrimage church

Soaring above the Rheintal valley, the two towers of the baroque basilica, the pilgrimage church in the village of Bildstein, can be seen from afar. This pilgrimage site was founded in 1519 with the construction of a small wayside cross featuring a Madonna figure. The church was renovated in 2017 and on 7 October 2018 with much fanfare it was elevated to the status of basilica. The view from here over the entire Rheintal valley is impressive.

“Where heaven and earth meet:” The St. Gerold priory in the Großes Walsertal biosphere park is a moving and fascinating natural refuge boasting 1000 years of history. The rustic valley and the peace and tranquillity of the St. Gerold priory invite you to stop by for refreshment and relax. The “Weg der Sinne” trail: Over the years, a nature reserve was created in the forest below the priory with 13 ponds, small paths leading over bridges, countless flowers, bushes, trees and benches, all of which invite you to linger and relax.

05 Wildental valley, Kleinwalsertal

Vorarlberg’s  Wildental valley, an idyllic side valley of Kleinwalsertal, boasts high geomagnetic radiation which is said to have positive effects on the body. 13 Salgenreute chapel and the Krumbach moors

A special room in a special place: The new chapel, which was designed by the architect Bernardo Bader, boasts a topographically charming location on a conglomerate formation near the Krumbach Moor in the Bregenzerwald. This sacral building is adorned with shingles made of fine-grained, weathered larch, which will gradually darken like the region’s old farmhouses. The chapel can be reached on foot from the village centre in approx. 20 minutes. In summer, an early hike through the moors is conducive to improving one’s vitality. For a true natural experience, the tranquillity in the wooden ‘moor-room’ is simply incomparable!
