01 DS Hohentwiel and MS OESTERREICH
There is no more stylish way to experience the sunset on Lake Constance: Gourmet cruises and other events are offered on the lavishly renovated Hohentwiel paddle steamship. NEW: First put into service in 1928, the MS Oesterreich was the first large-motor vessel on Lake Constance. Its luxurious, Art-Deco style appearance inspired passengers from the very beginning. Over the course of four years, it was completely restored and will now embark on its second maiden voyage in 2019. From “Sundowners” to “Mainau Insel Cruises” there are many thematic and round trips planned!

02 Cheese maturation at an Alpine pasture dairy
That extra special taste has two key ingredients: Milk sourced from the mountains in addition to a several months long maturation process. Aromatic mountain cheese is one of Vorarlberg’s most important specialities! In many cases, it is even produced at high Alpine pastures in summer. 04 Discover pristine nature
“Making the most of nature without doing harm” is the philosophy of the UNESCO Grosses Walsertal Biosphere Park. This unique mountain valley is off the beaten track and yet in the centre of Vorarlberg. At present, the area boasts 230 kilometres of marked hiking trails, 40 mountain peaks and 47 cultivated Alpine pastures. But that’s not nearly all: pure beauty and fun in the great outdoors is all around!

05 Mushroom hike on the Kristberg mountain
Collect, learn, clean, cook and enjoy: this is the philosophy of the special “Mushroom walk with tasting at the Kristberg gourmet mountain” in Montafon, which takes place every Friday in summer. Hiking guide and mushroom expert Harry Trautmann cordially invites you to join this educational and thoroughly enjoyable hike.
