Mountain adventure
Follow Silbi’s footsteps in Montafon
Snow shoe tour for families
As the name suggests, silver was once mined in Silbertal valley (literally Silver Valley) in Montafon. Silbi, the Kristberg mountain mascot, guides hikers young and old through the history of mining and the miners. Stations along the guided, roughly two and a half hour snowshoe hike include the St. Agatha Miners’ Chapel and the Ganzaleita viewpoint. On the route, hikers will learn all about silver mining and what the miners did in the winter months. The hike takes place every Wednesday from December to April.
