Hike to the sunny balcony of Muttersberg, Bludenz
Mountains as far as the eye can see
You can reach the panoramic peak of Muttersberg on foot or by cable car in a few minutes from Alpenstadt Bludenz. It is so practical that the Alpine landscape starts right outside the front door.
On the sunny balcony on Muttersberg, your eyes wander from the peaks of Verwall, Rätikon to the Churfirsten across the Swiss Alpstein range, to the Großes Walsertal and can’t get enough.
However, it is not only the panorama that deserves a closer look and invites you to guess the summit. Directly to the east of the mountain station, the flowers and grasses of a biodiverse low-nutrient meadow are a real treat for the eyes. At the inn in Laz, you can still find a narrow patch with rare plants. On these meadows, you can spot endangered species like the keeled garlic, clustered bellflower or cowslip. The middle and lower parts of the route leads through the sunny pine forests of Galgentobel valley. With a little luck, perceptive hikers can even see rare plants along the trail.
