Enjoy nature with all your senses
Hohentwiel paddle steamship
All aboard and full steam ahead: experience Lake Constance from a different perspective!
Her legendary reputation precedes her: The deep tones from Captain Adi Konstatzky’s horn are audible from clear across the lake. As this elegant, nostalgic steamship straight out of a fairytale comes into view, one is reminded of times long since past.
There is no more stylish way to experience the sunset on Lake Constance: Gourmet cruises and other events are offered on the lavishly renovated paddle steamship. Chef Heino Huber then serves a 5-course menu on board.
Those booking passage can also take advantage of captain’s dinners, jazz brunches, afternoon journeys, literature trips, lunch excursions, Night of the Senses, or an English Afternoon Tea with sandwiches and muffins and much more.
The home port of the paddle wheel steamship is Hard near Bregenz, where the gourmet cruises start and end. Visit the ship’s website to find out more about themed cruises with moorings in Bregenz or elsewhere.
When the Hohentwiel made its official maiden voyage on 21 April 1913, it was indeed just one of many steamships. Even then, however, the "Seeblatt" newspaper reported that the interior of the Hohentwiel was especially luxurious in comparison to other ships.
“Rigoletto” Hohentwiel festival trips
Enjoy a cruise on a historic ship on Lake Constance before the performance. We serve an excellent 3-course festival menu including aperitif and ‘amuse-bouche.’ As the last of the passenger ships, we moor directly at the lakeside stage for you. To avoid disappointment, we recommend early reservations. Festival tickets (Hauskarten tickets category I and Seekarten tickets category III) are available on request.

Inspiring passengers of all ages, she is in service from April to October on Lake Constance. During the cold months from November to March, Europe’s most beautiful historical paddle wheel steamship enjoys some well-deserved hibernation by spending the winter in her home port of Hard. Then, in springtime, she will once again be prepped for summer.
