Tempel 74
Holiday apartments at the heart of a thriving village community.
The “Tempel” district is one of the most attractive in picturesque Mellau, Bregenzerwald. Next to the Nazes Hus restaurant – a listed heritage site – and their own contemporary home, host Evi Haller and master builder Jürgen Haller have replaced a run-down old farmhouse with two brand new structures that wonderfully embody Bregenzerwald living and building culture. These feature a combined total of ten holiday apartments.
We have crafted Tempel 74 to be a holiday destination with down-to-earth elegance, a place where guests can share in our way of life and everyday culture.
While the first building is a faithful reconstruction of the old farmhouse in size and appearance, the second represents a free interpretation of traditional regional architecture. Both structures are linked by a semicircular connecting wing that also houses the reception and a comfortable parlour for guests.
The two buildings boast a total of nine fully furnished apartments measuring between 50 and 60 square metres, plus a penthouse apartment covering some 100 square metres. All are packed with refined and delightful details. Sophisticated openings and loggia-like balconies connect the apartments to the striking cultural landscape. Old casement windows and their typical sliding elements have been masterfully reconstructed as a wonderful complement to the formal simplicity of the high-quality interiors. The use of natural materials, local wood, fluffy fabrics and atmospheric lighting generates a cosy atmosphere. And the reconstructed farmhouse even features a sauna and small spa area under its roof.
Master builder Jürgen Haller is happy to provide guided tours on request, helping guests explore a number of successful architectural projects across the region.
