BUS:STOP Krumbach – Unterkrumbach Nord bus stop
-
As a self-described research institute for architecture, Ensamble Studio’s projects push materials to the limits of their performance. Fascinated by the elemental quality of raw, untreated oak panels and their layering in the dry stores at timber workshops across the Bregenzerwald region, the collective took this as the basis for the spatial design of their BUS:STOP. Through the layering and arrangement of the raw panels, they succeeded in creating a space that is at once protected and open. It was important to ensure that the oak panels remained fully untreated, as their natural scent and ageing process help make this installation unique.
