The birthplace of Alpine skiing
It began so many years ago. In Lech Zürs am Arlberg the very first guests learned to ski in 1906. The rest is history. Since then winter-sports pioneers have continued to innovate ski technology, from ski lifts to ski slopes and everything in between. While the total length of skiable slopes has increased in kilometres, Lech Zürs am Arlberg has nevertheless retained its village charm. The atmosphere here is elegant yet relaxed. As a matter of course, Lech Zürs am Arlberg belongs to a select circle of 11 member villages known as “Best of the Alps.”
Entertainment with style
In wintertime, the many bars in the village and in the ski area feature lively Après-ski music amidst stylish ambiance. In April, live music signals the end of the ski season. In summer, small, but sophisticated classical-music festivals and folk-music concerts enliven the hottest months.
Flower-filled meadows in summer
All this and more in a fairy-tale setting! Summer is a time to hike through meadows of wildflowers against the backdrop of staggering mountain scenery en route to emerald-hued mountain lakes and stunning viewpoints. Along the way, discover more than 20 orchid types. Look closer, fossilised corals, shells and more are testament to the ancient ocean landscape that existed here more than 200 million years ago. Hiking trails, such as the “Green Ring” or the “Lechweg”, will lead hikers through a unique natural landscape.
Practical: The “Lech Card”, available at an advantageous all-inclusive price, is valid for cable cars and buses as well as for activity programs for adults and children.
