Directions
The loop starts at the church square in Schröcken. The route follows the main road downhill for 500 meters until just before the Tannberg bridge, from where a narrow path on the left leads through the forest down to the Bregenzerache. The route continues along the river on a goods road to a fork in the road, where it continues uphill for 500 meters on an asphalt road to the Unterboden district. At the last houses on the road, the trail continues through the parcel in the direction of Landsteg, until shortly afterwards a goods path on the right leads up through the forest. Follow this path to the district of Schwand. Follow the asphalted road for 1 kilometer up into the forest parcel. Pass the uppermost farmhouse and follow the narrow path upwards through the Sonnenbergerwald forest to the “Alp” alpine pasture, then continue upwards on the goods road towards the “Sulzalpe”. Pass this and continue along the goods road until you reach the old huts in the “Schlössle” after a short descent. From there, follow the goods road to the left over the Joch down to Steinigwies on the main road. Follow the road uphill for 300 meters until after the first bend a path on the right leads up into the forest. Follow this path past the Witelealpe up to the Körbersee lake. From Körbersee, a goods road leads to Alpe Batzen, past the “Alpmuseum uf m Tannberg” down to the old main road, which leads the last few meters back to Schröcken.
