  • Directions

    The route starts at the sports field in Silbertal and leads along the river into the valley. At first it goes only slightly uphill into the valley. From the open-air stage of the Montafon legend festival, a short section initially climbs a bit steeply and shortly after reaches the Teufelsbach waterfall. After about 5 minutes you reach the road that also leads into the valley. You cross it and can follow a shortcut that also climbs a bit steeply upwards. After the shortcut, you also reach the gravel road or wide path. The path continues uphill to the next bridge in the “Bärenschlager” area. When you reach the bridge (left branch), continue straight ahead on the wide path. From this point on the path is more or less flat to the Alpengasthaus Fellimännle. The snack station Hasahüsli is located about 5–10 minutes after the Alpengasthaus Fellimännle (further into the valley). If you take the detour to Hasahüsli, from there you can follow the wide path towards Kristberg. Slightly above Hasahüsli, the path from the Alpengasthaus Fellimännle joins. Otherwise, turn left at the Alpengasthaus Fellimännle and first follow the path through the forest and then continue on the wide path uphill. When you reach Lobsteg, turn left again. The path climbs steeply to Wildried. When you reach Wildried, a high-altitude raised bog, the route alternates with slight ups and downs until the mountain station of the Kristberg cable car, the end point of the route.

    The regional buses of Montafonerbahn operate throughout the Montafon. The main lines run hourly from Schruns station.

    From Schruns station you reach Silbertal via bus line 680. The stop is: “Kristberg cable car“

    For the return journey

    With bus line 680 you get back from Silbertal to Schruns station.

    Arrival by train

    From Bludenz station the Montafonerbahn runs hourly (partly every half hour). There are also direct connections from Lindau (D) and from Bregenz.

    Approach:

    Coming from Bludenz take the Bludenz/Montafon motorway exit and follow the L188 into the Montafon to Schruns. Continue via Silbertalerstraße into Silbertal. http://www.google.at/maps
